Uncommon goods are jewelry and unique hand-made pieces, for those who don’t want to be like others. I was looking for something unusual, ready to wear during my – just began – Summer 2015 and I’ve found a lot of Uncommun goods. It‘s a company that tastes good, because it speaks about good things in such a critical way. Their slogan could be the acclaimed “so critical, so fashion” slogan, thank to the beautiful and sustainable objects they make. Beautiful, because they are unique pieces, handmade by artists around the world; sustainable, because they often use recycled materials that completely lose their first meaning. Their mission is very clear and fashion inspired.
Summer is the best moment of the year, when I adore to decor my wrists and my fingers with original objects with a strong personality. I collect bracelets and small jewelry, as memories of good moments, events and happy vibes. There is no better time than this to add to my collection something uncommon, you can wear without thinking to much, to catch the attention. Whether it’s a mosaic necklace made of colored pixels, hidden like camouflage on a Missoni dress or composed of small pieces in black and white, for a chic and nothing trivial outfit . In Uncommongoods version, you can find both kinds and wear it in different ways.
Constantly fascinated by little stars, not only the ones in the sky at night or those of the cinema, I always find jewelry, made of a more or less naive versions of “twinkle twinkle little stars”, totally unusual and perfect for a cocktail at sunset, with a white \ black lace dress or a chemisier made of green tulle. In these two examples, necklaces are entirely handmade and you can find them in this selection.
And the trend of pendants with a message inside, because sometimes it is better to have something clear that reminds us where we want to go.
Luckly there are places who help us when we need to think about a gift for a friend. You don’t need to look for something that manages to impress with strenght, maybe it would be enough a common object thought in an uncommon way. So, if I think about something I bought recently, I would have loved to receive as a gift a shopping bag in tropical print to take to the local organic market, a bag for my yoga mat, a bike backpack that I can’t go anywhere without my bike and a pair of wall or wood animals, as the one we saw at Fuorisalone 2015 in Milan or on this site.
In order to surprise, sometimes you simply need not be trivial and surround yourself with UncommonGoods.
