Art-a-Porter for Quattromani and Giulia Marani, youth people of Milan Fashion Week like contamination. And why not!?!
The first presented their collection in the container of White, but in a special area where there was enough space to see their clothes breathe and float. The second, in a show-room with double height where, along with her collection, were exhibited the paintings of the artist with whom she collaborated.
Art-a-Porter for Quattromani here is where ideas were born
At the center of their Universe a young woman, or rather girls, traveling in beauty through an oniric process. Magic and poetry. The dream guides the work of the French illustrator Berenice La Ruche inspired by the artist from Sassari, Edina Altara and her accents typical of art deco. Virtuosity of Art Nouveau and technicalities of Art Deco take life today through Quattromani presenting rich and light volumes, but full-bodied made of ductile materials such as crepe de chine, silk georgette and viscose satin.
Nicola Frau, one of the two stylists, is proud showing the result of the artistic and stylistic research that produced the prints and drawings inspired by nature, iconic elements of the collection. After the Janas of the previous collection – delightful fairies with two souls of the Sardinian tradition designed by Alessandra Pulixi – a graphic thin face with naive lines of a woman with a head full of flowers, ideas and dreams is the iconic element to free our imagination and to remind us that this is the true nature of every female.
Each piece of clothing has a muffled consistency, but silhouettes created by knitting frame embellished with lurex are real while remaining soft and snug; it is experimentation and creativity that lead to innovation in the tradition.
The duo of Quattromani know how to be metropolitan with metal details, retro with typical Sardinian traditional processes including a special jacquard costumized for them and exquisitely bonton with the arrival of shiny swallows.
Once again the ready to wear turns into the Art-a-Porter for Quattromani.
Giulia Marani and art: a contemporary issue
A completely different relationship with art is the one estabilished by Giulia Marani’s collection created in collaboration with the artist Ester Grossi. We are not talking about poetry or magic, but of light and color.
