Asos, in the selection, proposes wonderful sequined shorts , but are you going to wear it?In any case I think that I’ll slip into a shirt \ jumpers or a beachwear – I put here an example with the American flag -. During summer time everything is allowed. What do you say? Is it absurd to think of wearing a flag that doesn’t even match your country? Or could it be considered a print as another?
more cute looks here if you want to buy it

Nope. Will never wear a national flag.
Patriotism can be displayed in many other ways… in any case, I only answer to one guy. Hmmm make it two, my husband AND the one BIG GUY up there 😉
LOL! That’s right!!! I’m confused about this!!! hihi
Don’t be confused and be recognized for being so creative with the Kreativ Blogger award principessa! 😀

To be honest, I never liked the flag-wearing trend or fashion or style… it seemed tacky, and as an American woman of color, it reminds me of people who don’t like me very much, lol… but to be honest, the prettiest national flag, in my opinion, is the Canadian flag… simple red and white, with the maple leaf to remind you of crisp cold weather and delicious maple syrup… I’ll love to see more fashion designers and graphic artists utilize that flag! Behlor
thank you for stopping and commenting! I love the American flag too :-P…those two are the coolest! The Canadian one is cute, but probably difficult to be printed and used differently then as a flag!!! In any case I obviously respect each Country and their own colors! baciii
As a super patriotic Canadian designer I love the Canadian flag love! Although I can’t think of anything less “Canadian” than wearing our flag so blatantly lol That being said it would be a fun challenge to find a way to use it dynamically in fashion since it is neither as flash as the Union Jack nor as starkly interesting as say Japan’s flag or France’s. Its greatest strength being its greatest weakness in this case; the maple leaf in the centre. On its own it would be a great shape or concept to explore, but combined with the stripes it makes the flag hard to manipulate in interesting angles or offsets. I am sure you’d sell a bomb in bikinis for foreign travellers. Nothing worse than being called an “American” your entire trip lol.
A Canadian designer thinking about printing his own flag?!?! this is cute :-)! As I wrote above I agree with you! As an Italian designer, probably less patriotic then you are I hardly can imagine my flag printed in a graphic way, probably because of the rigidity of the stripes and of the three different colors. In your case, the maple leaf could give can give some interesting insights, but it’s hard with the all concept. In any case if you find a ‘solution’, I’ll be curious to see it! keep in touch

Motel Rocks has a whole collection out now with the British flag! They use pink and light blue though – still super cute 🙂
wow…I’ll check it out!!! baciii
Lo adoro! Vorrei il costume..!

I think flags could never be worn as just prints. It always makes some kind of a statement about the wearer. What the statement is? Maybe that depends on the looker? 🙂
to be honest I agree with you…but I love the trend…I think it is cool, but since I’m not English I’ll probably won’t wear it…for example the Italian flag is not so cool and there is no trend on that :-P….read the comment below to see if I understood what you meant :-*
i think there is a certain level of respect you must have for your country to wear the print. sure both flags are beautiful, but i think they should be reserved for special occasions. just like @zestandfrenzy above me, who knows what the statement is??
“the statement depends on the looker” as she said…it depends on the meaning each single person give to it….probably Alexander Mc Queen with his bags want to admit to be proud of being English…thanks for stopping by!!! baci

I love the Union Jack. Under certain circumstances I think flags can be worn tastefully. Have you seen the Union flag carpets in Flor? Lovely. http://www.flor.com/hey-jack-red.html

http://www.mytouchofclass.net

è un piacere venirti a trovare!!! baciii
You are quite right in your thoughts, I mean, it’s like a flag is a fashion symbol even though it isn’t your country. However, I’ve grown up to see the american flag look cool as a fashion accessory. Wished it was the same for my country! I come from Malaysia and I wouldn’t wear my country’s flag – unless it is for patriotic purposes.
In my opinion, I would decorate with the Union Jack flag or I’d be more apt to wear that one even though I’m American. It’s more of a design to me and doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a flag, unlike if I wear my own. Here, at least where I live in the US, if you wear the American Flag as clothing it tends to come across as kind of hillbilly or trashy. :S
Reblogged this on WordPress Report.
wow
I’ve never been too partial to wearing anything with national flags on it, unless its a football jersey, or the print has been changed in some way (like an american flag in black and white). But damn is it ever popular here in Japan, mainly just union jacks and american flags though…
Agreed, just the two you mentioned!!! Are you in Japan? You are lucky I love it!!!
It’s funny because I think ANY American flag wear looks trashy and anything Union Jack just looks classy…is that weird?
