Reportage #2_#MFW_Simonetta Ravizza e Fatima Val

Milan is the City of secret and hidden courtyards . A little bit like Rome. But in a different way. Greener. Smaller. More widespread. Going around for fashion shows, also means to access and visit some of the most interesting spots of the city. Places often closed to the public. Aromas and flavors typically Italian. Made even more magical by the slightly hazy sun and fresh air and light. Simonetta Ravizza‘s  fashion show and the young designer Fatima Val‘s one occurred in two of my favorite locations .

Milano città di cortili segreti e nascosti. Un po’ come Roma. Ma in modo diverso. Più verdi. Più raccolti. Più diffusi.

Girare per sfilate, significa anche accedere e visitare alcuni tra gli spot più interessanti della città.

Luoghi spesso chiusi al pubblico. Dai profumi e i sapori tipicamente italiani. Resi ancora più magici dal sole leggermente velato e dall’aria fresca e leggera.

La sfilata di Simonetta Ravizza e della giovane stilista Fatima Val sono avvenute in due tra le mie location preferite.

SIMONETTA RAVIZZA

The first one has been scheduled for several years in the official #MFW calender and it has a background made ​​of consolidated historical pieces reconsidered and reinvented  in this collection.

The second one is a young designer born in the half 80’s, former model and future mother.

Two metropolitan styles ready to dress a woman on the go who does know how to be stylish and glamour in everyday life.

Simonetta Ravizza defines her collection Hippie – Chic. This label perfectly fits the long chiffon tunic with leopard hat and the motif of lace embroidered in perforated leather.

Even more underground is the inspiration behind the combination of masculine cut leather pants with crop shirt and jacket where the black is mixed with the red and blue avion. Absolutely a winning proposal talking about modern street style on the catwalk.

Less convincing, in a historical period in which Green and Eco are key words, the use of fur, snake, mink and pony mini vest combined with Fifties pants and useless nudity. I think these elements are no longer avantgarde in a pret a porter catwalk where – as she has showed us – street style, haute couture and fine but decided cuts should be the undisputed protagonists .

More futuristic and conceptual, as she says, the collection of Fatima Val. The collection is made of fluid and linear shapes with a sculptural element exception that turns a black and white dress in a half butterfly. The colors are strong, but they seem just whispering in the chromatic monotony of black, lime and blue avion .

Perhaps it’s not by chance that she has proposed only one print, the mechanical movements logo that is easily recognizable and identifiable. Whether it is a marketing move or  the”inspiration to the mechanical movement that symbolizes the perpetual motion ” I do not know…but I find it a winning choice…no doubt I would wear it .

La prima sfilata è in calendario da diversi anni e ha un background consolidato fatto di capi storici, rivisitati e re inventati in questa collezione.
La seconda è una giovane stilista classe 1985, ex modella e futura mamma.

Due stili decisamente metropolitani che vestono una donna in movimento che non rinuncia ad essere glamour e alla moda nella quotidianità.

Simonetta Ravizza definisce la sua collezione Hippy – Chic. Questa etichetta le si addice perfettamente nelle tuniche lunghe di chiffon con il cappello leopardato e nel leit motif del pizzo rievocato dalla pelle traforata.

Di ispirazione ancora più metropolitana, l’abbinamento dei pantaloni in pelle dal taglio maschile con crop shirt e giacchino in pelle dove il nero si mischia con il rosso e il blu avion. Assolutamente vincente la proposta del più moderno street style in passerella.

Meno convincente, in un periodo storico in cui Green e Eco sono parole chiave, l’utilizzo delle pellicce di visone e del pellame – serpente e cavallino – per mini gilet o boleri su mutandoni anni ’50 proponendo trasparenze e inutili nudità. Non penso questi siano elementi all’avanguardia e di valore in una passerella di pret a porter dove, come lei stessa ci ha dimostrato, Street Style, haute couture e tagli decisi, ma raffinati sono sempre più gli indiscussi protagonisti.

Più futuristica e concettuale, come lei stessa la definisce, la collezione di Fatima Val. Abiti dalle forme fluide e lineari con qualche eccezione in un elemento scultoreo che trasforma un abito bianco e nero in una mezza farfalla. I colori sono decisi, ma sembrano solo sussurrati nella monotonia cromatica del nero, giallo lime e blu avion.

Sembra non sia un caso che venga proposta un’unica stampa nell’intera collezione. Ingranaggi meccanici che come un logo rimangono impressi e sono facilmente riconoscibili e identificabili. Che sia un’operazione dei marketing o una effettiva “ispirazione al movimento meccanico che simboleggia il divenire” non lo so…ma la trovo una scelta vincente…senza dubbio la indosserei.
