My happy place, where you can find it

My happy place is a place that can be anywhere, but always have the same characteristics. As an identikit that leaves no room for mistakes, it is almost always an island, sunk into the sea, decorated by nature and underpinned by strong identifying and decomposed characteristics.

My happy place, scattered considerations

The Huffingtonpost published the story of Mihit Satyanand, a man who understood that living for working does not make any sense, in fact he says:

“Life is too short to spend it in a full time job. I’ll tell you why”.

We need time to slowly enjoy time. To watch flames of the fireplace for hours, to read a book on the couch at 11 am, going to the cinema at 3p.m., to be at home when there are those who need you and to chat for hours until the day melts with the night.

Quite banal statements, maybe a bit  too obvious, but useful to reflect during this first days of September.

My happy place is not the one you may find when on holidays, but the one that helps you to get a balance. With yourself, first, with the surrounding environment and with others, only in the end.

My happy place is definitely easier to find on vacation – very far and exotic places –but the good and happy vibe can turn into a feeling that helps us constantly.

How to use the feelings of my happy place to go back to ordinary life

I have always believed in the power of the mind which rules everything.

“When your mind relaxes, your body relaxes”.

This is what yoga teachers repeat and the practitioner know what I’m talking about.

Again it could result a bit too obvious and simplistic, such as Mihit Satyanand’s one, but if you have the “faith” to try it out, you’ll see that it’s all true.

Although far from my ideal happy place, even if I’m in a difficult situation, I’ve learnt to focus my mind on what makes me feel good.

Whether it is a hammock in a wood or a swing suspended in the clear sea. A fireplace in a muntain house or a field of lavender. To each of you her \ his image of serenity.
