Nino Lettieri’s pleats? Yes, please

” Pleats Please ” was the name of the brand designed by Issey Miyake in 1993. His idea of permanent creases that do not crumple is just one of many interpretations of the pleated trend .
From ancient Egypt to Greece, rich in history and mythology, pleats continue to return on runways around the world .And for this edition of Altaroma and for his collection spring \ summer 2014, Nino Lettieri decided to bring them back in a highly sculptural and sophisticated style .If the “fil rouge” of the collection is definitely the pleats, inside it we can find three subsets.The first in the middle between  neo- romanticism and austerity leaders who parade on the catwalk with a deliciously retro charm. Large ruffles on the chest suspending these dresses in between the bonbon style and a romantic dandy.
This effect is accentuated by the stiff fabrics such as shantung, the taffeta, organza from plain black to various shades of white.The second alternate these dresses with more structured and full-bodied printed ones. The textures, designed by the fashion designer itself, i are pleated on light and impalpable fabrics like chiffon, organza, satin  cotton, georgette embroidered with sequins.

And a third part made of mini-dresses made ​​of lightweight and transparent crinoline that does not ” dress” the body, but leave it to the femininity of the woman who wears and complete it. The soutache embroidery, in fact, let the  glimpse go into the intriguing and sensual game of i can and cannot see.

And more than the trapeze lines, wheeled skirts and capri pants inspired by the years 50/60 the strength of this collection is the extreme sophistication and lightness that pervades every single dress clothes making these ” living sculptures “ to be dressed on.

Questo effetto è accentuato dai tessuti rigidi come lo shantung, le taffetas, l’organza in tinta unita color nero e svariate nuances del bianco.

Il secondo che alternata a questi abiti più strutturati e corposi ci sono gli abiti stampati. Le texture, disegnate dallo stilista, lsi muovono tra il bianco e il nero e sono plissettate su tessuti leggeri e impalpabili come chiffon, organza, raso di cotone e georgette ricamata con paillettes.

E un terzo fatto di miniabiti leggerissimi e trasparenti in crinolina che non “vestono” il corpo, ma lasciano che sia la femminilità della donna che lo indossa a completarlo. I ricami di soutache, infatti, lasciano intravedere nel gioco intrigante e sensuale del vedo.

E più che le linee a trapezio, gli abiti a ruota e i pantaloni capri ispirati agli anni 50/60  il punto di forza di questa collezione è secondo me l’estrema sofisticazione e leggerezza che pervade ogni singolo abito rendendo questi abiti “sculture da abitare”.
