Before becoming a trend. Before being a shirt. The plaid was for me a blanket. And in red and blue it reminds me my grandfather’s nap. While resting near the fireplace after lunch. Only with the noise of the fire. Crackling. Warm and magical.
Acceso. Scoppiettante. Caldo e magico.
It’s been at least two years ago since this style is on the runways. From famous brands like Dolce & Gabbana to low cost ones like H & M, Zara, Pull & Bear.
At first I was skeptical. Now I couldn’t do without. Open on a gray or white top. When you do not know how the weather will be. Buttoned asymmetrically on a short jeans. As a mini dress with leggings or alone with cowboy boots.
With a bon ton skirt and long boots to the knees. Casual or in the more sophisticated Dries Van Noten’s version – http://www.driesvannoten.be. So forget the pic – nic tables set with checkered tablecloths. Once again, the fashion industry has been able to change drastically an old imaginary.
All’inizio forse ero scettica.

Plaid is very popular these days in the outdoor industry. I wrote a little blog about it: http://thestonemind.com/2012/08/07/50-shades-of-plaid-the-unofficial-uniform-of-outdoor-retailer/
