Along these about 600 km of road there are many things to do and see. Small and sporadic and, not to waste too much energy, …we have chosen just a few.

Another Springfield. And a piece of Route 66 made ​​of historic houses (a seafood restaurant, a spa, a psychologist, a kindergarten, a B&B and many other activities that I couldn’t manage to capture walking in the thin raindrops).
No stop until Carthage. A city where you should go to get lost in antique shops, buy some typically American object to look back in nostalgia when you get home. A sort of surreal place despite for the temperature that began to get hotter. And all the bars closed except for the Mother Route Café – where you can also leave a sign of your passage. I suggest to try the pumpkin pie dusted with cinnamon and shake with berries.
From here to Oklahoma relentlessly…
A swim in the pool and, hoping not to offend anybody, the best filet of all time.
Here is the birthplace of Western. It seems that all the movies have been shot here :).
In this stage I’ve finally driven, and the historical line from Springfield to Carthage was exciting. Great soundtrack from American radio stations and incredible scenery.
Because in reality, in addition to all the things you can do or see, there’s a part of this journey that is only yours. Your dream, your past, your present and future thoughts projected on the road of roads.

 Lungo questi 600 km di strada di cose da fare ce ne sono. Sono piccole e sporadiche e, per non disperdere troppe energie, …ne abbiamo scelte solo alcune.
 
Un’altra Springfield. E un tratto della Route 66 fatto di case storiche (un ristorante di pesce, una SPA, uno psicologo, un asilo, un B&B e molte altre attività che non sono riuscita a catturare sotto la pioggia fitta e sottile). 
Nessuna sosta fino a Carthage. Una città dove consiglio di andare per perdersi nei negozi di antiquariato, comprare qualche oggetto tipicamente americano da guardare con nostalgia una volta a casa. Peccato per la temperatura che ha cominciato a farsi bollente. E tutti i bar chiusi eccetto per il Mother Route Café – dove puoi anche lasciare un segno del tuo passaggio. Che consiglio, per il tortino di zucca spolverato di cannella e il frullato ai frutti di bosco. 
Da qui senza sosta verso Oklahoma city e il caldo del centro che aumenta.
Un bagno in piscina e, sperando di non offendere nessuno, il migliore filetto di tutti i tempi.
Qui è la patria del Western. Sembra che tutti i film siano stati girati qui :).
In questa tappa ho finalmente guidato, e il tratto storico da Springfield a Carthage è stato emozionante. Ottima colonna sonora di chissà che radio americana e incredibile paesaggio.
Perché in realtà oltre a tutte le cose che puoi fare o vedere c’è una parte di questo viaggio che é solo tua. Il tuo sogno, il tuo passato, i tuoi pensieri presenti e futuri proiettati sulla strada delle strade.
