Succeeding in fashion & more

Succeeding in fashion, or more generally succeeding in life, is something that affects more and more people today.

And new social phenomena don’t always help!  In fact often they make the situation worst by making us believe every deceptive idea is something readily accessible. Social networks are capable of giving Andy Warhol’s infamous  ’15 minutes of fame’, often the result of fortuitous astrological combinations of hashtags, enough to imagine that the summit is closer than it is in reality. A bit like the teetotaler who feels the thrill of alcohol for the first time.

Succeeding in fashion or more generally succeeding in life

For each of us success has a different meaning. Some of us may feel fulfilled by little things, others want to go for an important discovery and there are those, like Abraham Lincoln, who think:

““I’m a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn’t have the heart to let him down.”

And so do I, sometimes to be successful all you need is a sponsor who doesn’t give you money, but is just someone who believes in you.

Is there an age to be succeed in fashion?

“Don’t worry or be too anxious about your career. You just have to enjoy the process. “It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. There is no shortcut, no secret path to success; you just need to focus on what you like and keep moving forward,” he advised. “Do not let discouragement eat up your dream.” – Sebastian Kim

Christian Dior presented his first collection at the age of 42, while the last artistic director of the Maison that still bears his name, Raf Simons, left it to the age of 47 after 3 successful years, in order to devote his time to other important things in life. So, still a few years shy of his half-century of life, he abandoned the French Maison he expertly has guided, shuffling the ingredients of the historical sophistication and poetry without losing the true identity.

Which is the secret to succeedin fashion

I have always believed in the X factor, in the natural, exceptional talent that everyone has. To be successful in fashion (and not only in fashion) , everyone should do what he or she does more naturally. It is not a coincidence that Karl Lagerfeld won a competition to design a coat aged just 22 and went to work for Balmain. Then in 1976 he he won another assignment for Yves Saint Laurent, which bored him to the point of moving to the coast for a while to try and understand how life really works.

What is important in order to succeed in fashion

Figuring out what you want to do. The sooner, the better. And if you can not manage to understand it by yourself, maybe you can connect, somehow, with Madame Zereakian, the Turkish Christian Dior’s visionary who predicted that Karl Lagerfeld would have had luck in fashion and perfume.
