There have always been a conflictual relationship between me and books.
I lose an infinite amount of time in the library. I am looking for, observing and studying. And then I always buy more than one book. About architecture, fashion, photography. Commonly.
The novels only when I want to. Like now.
On one hand I love the subtle magic to insert yourself in the virtual space of reading; on the other hand, I’m so used to live in one of my unreal worlds, that I fatigue to enter in one created by others.
For me there is a precise time to read a novel. For someone it’s every night before going to sleep, for me it’s definitely during a trip, on Sundays afternoon or during Summer. When the weather allows you to fall asleep at 4 in the afternoon, with closed shutters and the light that draws striped shadows on the walls. When you can read without stopping. When you can immediately know how it is going to end without having to wait too long.
In my case – today – I put 3 books in my suitcase to the beach and I think those will last for the next seven days.
My choices :
1. Patrick Dennis – Auntie Mame
2. Alice Munro – Too Much Happiness
3. Muramaki – Norwegian Wood
❤︎❤︎❤︎
Rapporto conflittuale tra me e i libri. Da sempre.
Perdo un tempo infinito in libreria. Cerco, guardo, studio. E poi i libri li compro. Di architettura, di moda, di fotografia. Sempre.
I romanzi quando ne ho voglia. Come adesso.
1. Zia Mame – Patrick Dennis
2. Alice Munro – Troppa felicità
3. Muramaki – Norwegian Wood
