Never stop running_Maratona di Roma

A rainy Rome. That leaden gray sky that is the perfect backdrop of the monuments and buildings that speak an ancient language .

A city that lives in history. Yesterday’s history.
And you can feel and taste it just walking around, perceiving and tasting the past thousand worlds .

Today’s history. When she decides to never stop, to be under the spot and to be filled with 19,000 colored pixels.
Those pixels are T-shirts, shoes and chest of people who have decided to challenge themselves today in the Eternal City.

And it’s the Rome Marathon .
42 km 195 m of emotions.

Joy, sorrow, excitement, discomfort, relief and fatigue, excitement, anger, adrenaline and exhaustion.
Kilometers of road representing kilometers of lived lives. Everyone has their own. But today “all the roads lead to Rome“. Together and simultaneously .

There is always a purpose for running. Challenging yourself and your possibilities .
Demonstrate that a passion and a sport can save the world , or at least save you from boredom. From the lack of goals or dreams to achieve.

Running with those who live in your city. With those coming from outside . Running sweating every km and maybe looking for a smile, pleased or admired in those who are no more strangers to the edges of the road. That applaud you with affection.

Because today all of the XX Rome Marathon runners were heroes for a day.

And I was thrilled with them at 37° km together with the speaker that urged them not to give up to (only 5  missing) calling them by name, smiling and reminding them that today they were the “Great Beauty of Rome.”

Una Roma piovosa come spesso lei sa essere. Quel cielo grigio plumbeo che è lo sfondo perfetto dei monumenti e degli edifici che parlano una lingua antica.
