A story of friendship born by chance. Apparently. It’s July and we are in the heart of the historic Rome. A little bit for work, a little bit for fun and a lot for passion. We are both there, waiting to enter an haute couture runaway for Alta Roma. I’m the newest in this world. Valentina is a veteran. She has five blogs, while mine is something more than one year old, and that’s pretty enough for me. It’s the third day and I can count on one hand people I have spoken with. For shyness, maybe. For this incredible urge to detachment that sometimes distinguishes me, only at the beginning. For being too serious sometimes, who knows?!? I see her safe, strong, nice looking appearance in her taste and style colored by a retro flavor. She is in the world of fashion “in her own way”…

I spoke to her. From that moment the discovery. A background in common. The architecture. A sparkling stage where we were walking blowing through cascades of glitter. The Fashion world. A whispered creativity, sometimes. Shouted, someothers .Since that summer afternoon we have often spoken to each other.Among the paintings, travels, photos and exhibitions going on in a never ending succession, everything chased, at once and overlapped, often. It was weird I didn’t know that a fil rouge was keeping everything together. A novel. I even didn’t know she was writing a book. “Friend love” is the name of her first book. And for me, that I’ve always loved to write a lot, but read very little this was an amazing aspect of her eclectic artistic life. I’m those kind of person who can watch a movie up to know it by heart, but often neglect a novel at the beginning of the second chapter, this has been a great chance to think and reflect more.Reading the words ” LOVE FRIEND ” on the cover of a book means giving the words the attention they deserve and it’s the perfect subject in this period where we are used to share opinions on What’s up and exchange emotions via emoticons, .In this story there’s a bit of each of us. Of those who have just stopped being non-resident students. Of those who will be in that condition very soon. It mirrors feelings of people who are going away from their true home; those who cries the loss of that genius loci that maybe, only after some time , they will learn to use as a compass and not as a lifesaver. In this book there is so much of real life. Those who are more accustomed to give and those who mostly easily take. The true and sweet lightness of a chat between friends that can help you as much as a shopping session made with your girlies. The power of a laugh out loud with your friends that is good for the heart as well as the spirit. The stories written, narrated, crumpled of all the protagonists reminds us that relationships, the real ones, can not be decoded. That women will always be friends and enemies, even outside a Zara dressing room. That there are not bad men, but men who do not love. That is not true that nobody woos more and that nobody can resist. That being happy and suffer and then being happy again is part of the manual that can not be written .In the novel there is a bit of all of this. A story of love, friendship, women, men and fashion. To Valentina I wish her book will conquer the mind and the nights of her readers. Then a place on the shelves under the label love stories, because each story to be defined like that, should be always inspired by these two words: love and friendship.

Iniziai a parlare. Da lì la scoperta. Un background in comune. L’architettura.
