Baby, it‘s cold outside! That’s not just the title of a song written in 1944 and sung by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald….it is also one of those phrases of inspiration; romantic and poetic at the same time, which conjures up images in our minds of a fireplace, a sprig of mistletoe, frosted glass and coloured lights. Who among us has not dreamed of having someone who repeats to us gently and firmly ‘not to worry I will take care of you – stay here baby, it’s cold outside’.

Beyond that feeling of safety netting and that innate desire of protection that even the toughest of us have, this quote appears as a warning.
It’s cold outside, so it is better not to go out. Is this a waiver or an opportunity?
In the end what is life if not always an alternation of waivers and opportunities, trying each time to choose what is the best for us any time?
In the North of the United States in February , temperatures are often below or close to freezing. “Baby it’s cold outside” is a reality, but not a limit. It does not stop people running before work at 6 am, going out, doing their shopping, living and also staying warm – in the heart and attitude, rather than in the body.

Push your limits even when Babe, it’s cold outside

And what is strength of mind if its not the most powerful weapon and at the same time the most dangerous one in our possession? It’s up to us to decide how to use it. For us…or against us!

To put up limits, or to try to overcome them. And it is precisely the concept of limits that we should learn to deal with.

Even if it’s cold out, it is not an excuse not to go out. Although inexplicably sad, is not an excuse to be unhappy. Although we sometimes feel disappointment, it makes no sense to be against the world. Even if somebody has already said ‘no’ to us many times, we can not stop believing.

Limits are only a perception of mind.
This is the belief to go out on an ordinary and extraordinarily cold Thursday morning in Boston, including the architecture that speaks of New England and snow that ,despite the sun, does not find the strength to melt.

Baby it‘s cold outside, find the warmth and strength within you, which is the only thing you can really do.
