Sunday, August 21st under the rain and a semi desert stage, end the South America Olympics games. The real star of the final ceremony seems to be the next hosting country: Tokyo.
Rio 2016 to Tokyo 2020: a video with a high graphic content
Rio 2016 to Tokyo 2020. While on one side we have not yet figured out if Rio has ever been ready, on the other Tokyo seems to be set. It’s not difficoult to doubt it, knowing the accuracy and reliability of their culture.
The Land of the Rising Sun has already conquered us with the video presentation. It was not filmed with 3d reality, but it has catapulted us into a fantasy movie. Sophisticated technology and strong tradition. Modernity and ancient civilization.
The video begins with a Japanese girl and her preppy look in the special district of Shibuya. One of the most dynamic and active of the city.
A clip of 2.38 minutes. A common thread: the red ball symbol of Japan is passed from a discipline to an animated hero. In the background all of the iconic elements. The Shinkansen icon of progress, temples symbol of tradition, skyscrapers, lights and noises. Even the protagonists of the most famous cartoons.
One way to identify in just an instant, icons of the Western culture into the Eastern one. For those who know the richness of Japan, concentrating everything in a few minutes it is not an easy affair.
Final surprise in the ebding ceremony from Rio 2016 to Tokyo 2020
The clip perfectly conceived was not enough.
So there’s the ending surprise that leaves us enjoy what is going to happen in four years. Among the last scenes, the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe appears concerned. He is worried he will not arrive in time for the Olympic Games closing cerimony. Fortunately Super Mario is ready to help by lending his costume, the red ball and a green tube that connects Rio 2016 to Tokyo in 2020.
So Shinzo Abe arrives, dressed like Mario Bros, coming out of a green tube, into the center of the Maracana to take the baton and confirm that they are already warming up in Tokyo.
