Summer skin 2016: new season, new skin

Pelle Estate 2016

Summer skin 2016: We are almost there..summer is almost upon us! But a change of climate can bring chaos to our bodies! Especially our skin! But let’s be positive and see it as a time of opportunity too. The arrival of a new season is a chance to make a temporary balance and establish new beauty regimens. A summer routine can not be the same as a winter one, when the cold makes us fragile from one side and preserves us from the other.

The new beauty ritual is taking into account many factors, first of all because we are going to expose ourselves to the sun, and to the new attacks our skin will be submitted to. So let’s turn the spotlight onto Summer skin 2016: a soft and healthy one.

Summer skin 2016: new season, new skin

The watchword is exfoliation. Removing dead cells is very important to allow the birth of new ones, that are young and lively. A renewed skin is most receptive to treatment and will be able to better penetrate the products after removing the obstacle layer.

Dead cells, however, also have an important function for the skin: they protect it from environmental damage, from bacteria and air pollution. So you should not overdo the exfoliation. I recommend just once a week – for dry and normal skin – and more frequently for heavier.

Three ways to exfoliate and get a perfect summer skin 2016

Physical exfoliation: This is the most common and easiest way to exfoliate. Through “scrubbing” particles, these products are manually massaged and break the protein that accumulates on the skin. Products and techniques for physical exfoliation include the use of a scrub, gommage and peeling even with technology as microdermabrasion, ultrasound, brushes.

Enzyme exfoliationThe enzymes are excellent for all skin types. Particularly useful when used to cure acne, dry and sensitive skin, or as a complement to chemical peels. Enzymes do not rub the skin like mechanical ones do. Technically enzymes accelerate the skin’s natural exfoliation process.

Among the products that I would love to try there is the mini trio of masks by Peter Thomas Roth.

Exfoliation with acids. Also called chemical peeling. Acids are almost as  effective as a surgical process. Exfoliating products of this type are based on ingredients such as glycolic, lactic or salicylic acid. They also have an effect at cellular level, redistributing pigmentation in the process. Some chemical formulations can also produce effects similar to those of a laser.
