Everybody loves Dolce e Gabbana and Gucci?

Everybody loves Dolce e Gabbana and Gucci? Maybe not that much! A little time has passed from the day that saw Alessandro Michele’s fashion show at Westminster Abbey cathedral. Despite the acclaim of the international press, more convinced than usual, the Gucci Resort 2017 collection is a bit like an old photo album. Photos of generations, styles and even of “someone’s relationship with his own identity.”

While Gucci shows us how to be tremendously trendy (and not for this so in style) being the stylist of his owncollection, the duo brings in stores SS 2016 collection. So they let us dream again. The beautiful, sweet, romantic story of our Italian cities – majolica, lace, embroidery, gold and more. When we are still choosing whether to go to Portofino or to Rome with Dolce and Gabbana, Mr Michele has decided to confuse us and awaken us. From the dream he had made us fall asleep.

Until yesterday he talked of poems, emotional maps and has almost convinced us that one person could be retro and contemporary at the same time.

Everybody loves Dolce e Gabbana and Gucci? probably we still can’t understand the changement

As well as Dolce and Gabbana are preparing the 30 years celebration of their Maison in Naples involving the whole city, sublimating the concept of Mediterranean  made of strong colors, passion and breathtaking views, so A.M. has just abandoned us in a beautiful, but Gothic and gray London.

If the first delight us with princely clothes, prints depicting childhood and naive sketches celebrating mom and family, the second proposes super high rainbow wedges and sweatshirts with the union flag – a tribute to the queen or the celebration of recent political achievements?

Eclectic proposals no doubt, somewhere between those of a rebellious punk in his acid wash jeans and a teenager just back from a study trip and a collector of vintage clothing, so old you can almost still smell of dust.

Is that a marketing operation? New way of communicating fashion? Hymn to a personal style tyou can’t understand, but just wear? Thin proclamation of the idea of ugly that made Miuccia such an innovator in the 90s?

We for sure forget minimalism – thankfully. And we alson forget the pleasure of the eye linked to a beauty idea.

To be consumed in small doses.
