The Parisian knows how to be chic, but her attitude is not to think about it too much and always  look like a soap and water girl. Many books have been written and a lot of websites and blogs entitled to this style that is much more than a set of rules. It is an attitude to that je ne se quoi.

The Parisian think basic most of the time, focusing on something different depending on the occasion. A pair of original shoes, flashy earrings, an important accessory and flawless makeup. You never want to be too flashy, but get easily noticed.
The main rule is to decontextualise. Create unexpected combinations to impress. The diamond necklace with a denim shirt, sequins knit on men’s pants, a chiffon dress with leather jacket and gym shoes for a tuxedo.

The Parisian has an understated elegance made of the highest quality timeless garments combined with playful details. If you ask a Parisian what special things she packs in her suitcase, she most likely responds “nothing.”
In her luggage you will surely find:
1. A leather jacket to wear under a coat to make it less elegant or over a maxi knit
2. A blue cashmere sweater to match with white jeans or black men’s pants, YSL is never wrong
3. The white shirts to wear unbuttoned or a tartan one inevitable in winter
