Furnishing a mini terrace because for those who live in Italy the balcony is a real extra room. A room without the walls, preferably with a coverage made of wood, straw, fabric or even a simple umbrella.
It doesn’t matter how small it is, the important thing is the way you manage to set it properly. And this is what Ikea continues repeating, organizing in 35 square meters a living room \ dining room \ bedroom \ kitchen and bathroom.
Furnishing a mini terrace because an outdoor space is somehow like an indoor
Thinking about an outdoor space, like an interior is all a mental issue. The first thing you should do for Furnishing a mini terrace is to think about the activities.
- The terrace is…a space where you can read a book and relax yourself when you go back home.
- The terrace is…a place where you can have breakfast at morning and dinner at night.
- The terrace is...a space where as soon as the temperature permits it I can invite friends to spend long nights talking.
- The terrace is…a vegetable garden a porter. Herbs, tomatoes, salad and if you are good enough plants and flowers as in a jungle.
Shape, size, creativity and your style for furnishing a mini terrace
It doesn’t exist a fix rule to furnishing a mini terrace. The finale image depends only on you.
Obviously you can always be inspired by others. Whether you prefer it minimal or made of sinle pieces that increase in time, like a collage or a puzzle. Inspired by exotic or mediterrean places. Ethnic or metropolitan. The place is about the way you live it.
About shape and dimension: It is much better if it has a regular shape and if there is a v
Sulla forma e la dimensione: meglio se ha una forma regolare and if it is in continuity with the living room, so you can have a visual permeability between interior and exterior.
This is the way I’ve furnished mine:
- a rectangle of ( 1,70 x 6,00 ) m
- Floor covered by a green carpet where you can walk barefoot.
- On one of the two short sides, two colored pouffs to delve into reading or a drink.
- On the other side, a wall unit to be filled with plants, lanterns, decorations bought by the sea and travel souvenirs.
- In the middle a table and four chairs
All around small green trees still in progress.
