How to style Nike running shoes, black of course

A romantic white dress, a leather jacket and a pair of black sneakers, it’s the best way to be comfy in style.

I often think about something said by Mr Louboutin in an interview with Garance Dorè. The quotation was something like this: “High heels force a woman to take her time, to walk slowlyand for this reason, to be admired”.
I paid attention to this concept, and the king of red sole was right.
Surely women owe a lot to the person who  invented heels, as Marilyn said, but sometimes, there is the need to come down from that pedestal and try something different.
I’m not a lover of ballet flats, too dolly and girly – especially those with ribbons and bows;

I do not mind slippers, even better if signed by Alexander McQueen or Charlotte Olympia; I do not like loafers and although I may like stringate, they’re not my preference to wear.

So what’s left?

Excluding boots, because they are a completely different subject, there are sneakers, of course.

High, low, in pastel or bold colours, golden, silver, baseball inspired, for tennis & so on.

Even if it may sound difficult to move around and choose the right pair, I’ve lately come to have a crush on Nike running shoes..the strictly black ones.

The ones you may use to create the best model off duty look or the ones featured on best street style websites.

I’ve selected here some outfits to show how to style a black pair of Nikes, to go to a fashion show or an event – not too formal ones, of course.

1. Keep it simple and edgy: wear a striped shirt, a black blazer and the skinniest denim in your closet

2. Loose and comfy: A salopette with an IT bag.

3. Urban attitude: a coulottes pants, a hat and a reflex, of course

4. Being self confident: one of the best way to feel appropriate with a pair of black running shoes is being sure of who you are.

5. Leather pants or light dresses? It’s up to you
