Louis Vuitton and the art of travelling. Oh yes, because the French brand has been accompanying families of travelers around the world, since 1854. A long time before the spread out of the famous “speedy” or the popular “tote”, Louis Vuitton has been famous for its trunks. Made in gigant size and, for those who still have one at home, still contaminated with the label of a far journey.
In Palazzo Bocconi in Milan – Corso Venezia – during Fuorisalone, it was possible to visit an exhibition that tells us not only about design, but also of precious materials, travels and savoir fair.
In the historical building of the Press 9 designers have created original settings, mainly inspired by the green and by far away places.
Not only trunks, but 15 original and limited edition items that are reinterpretation or addition to the “special orders” of the Maison.
La Belle Lamp, essential in a green urban forest green, manages – in the digital age – to combine Led technology with tradition.
The folding and lightweight origami stool, the hammock made of twisted leather, the bold red suspended seat and the folding bed, seem to be essential must-have for the modern nomad, who will even not miss any opportunity to bring the favorite plant around.
But among all of these Nomades Objects, there is an object capable of capturing the attention of the regal and fabulous painted in gold corridor on the upper floor: the colored Maracato.
Cabinet de voyage made of leather scraps from the Brazilians laboratories.
The travelling closet designed by Fratelli Campana, with its colored fringes seems to remember and evoke the dance which is inspired to and makes us dream of carrying it around, and hanging it as a unique decoration during one of our trips, to undiscovered lands.
