If I think about August Getty Atelier ‘s fashionshow I immediately remember the perforated fabrics and the subtle evocation, in lined volumes and amazing plots, of a distant Mediterranean flavored Architecture.
There is red, the color that the Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani, has defined as a lucky and seductive color; the one ladies wore with malice going to the Opera in Paris. There is white, the color that can not be missed especially in a debut collection and black, which is the sum of all colors. The clothes are structured in balloon skirts without being blatantly bonton never mawkish or too romantic; in evening dresses inspired by balls from fairy tales, in layers of light chiffon in the declinations of wisteria and waterfalls of bright gold. And the gold worked in such a material way reminding the way a famous architect could design surfaces, enlightening and satisfying our desire for glamour. And If you ask me “GLITTER?”, “Yes, please”.
