Vivetta: tailoring, lightness and surrealism

A style like Vivetta‘s fascinates, attracts and conquers.
We like to be feminine and seductive, but also childish and light.

Ironic and cheeky; femme fatale as in a joke, but basically eternal girls.

Vivì (Vivetta Ponti’s nickname, the creative designer of the brand) with her collection knows how to be frivolous and mawkish, but incredibly cultured and intellectual.

Uno stile come quello di Vivetta affascina, attira e conquista.
A noi piace essere femminili e seducenti, ma anche infantili e leggere.

Ironiche e sbarazzine; femme fatale per gioco, ma fondamentalmente eterne bambine.

Vivì  (il soprannome di Vivetta Ponti, la creativa designer del brand) con la sua collezione sa essere frivola e leziosa, ma incredibilmente colta e intellettuale.

The first time I wrote about Vivetta was two years ago and It was about a lovely linen mini skirt inspired to watermelon.

So when I was invited to the S\S 2015 presentation during the Milan Fashion Week, I was either curious or honored.
The place chosen for the presentation Fioraio Bianchi Caffè (a sophisticated yet charming café in Milan), let me imagine immediately that this collection had a lot to do with Nature.

A “diorama of all the contemporary trends” is what you can read right in the second line of the press release and in fact in this shortage scaled-down set there are almost all of the iconic pieces of the catwalk.
Oversize coats, prints on prints, midi skirts, peter collars and mini skater skirt.

But there is much more than this.
There are suits with pants and jacket oversized,  long dresses in canvas with an oriental flavor inspired from the 50’s, all printed as tapestries popular in the sixties.

And there are floral mini dresses with coat where flowers and natural elements are represented in an orderly and numbered way as a 900 botany board or even better as the herbarium designed by Luigi Serafino when he re proposed “The Natural Histories” by Jules Renard.

Inspired by surrealism when the clothes are more structured and prints become canvas painted in mouths, eyes and noses recalling paintings by Picasso and referring to a naif and retromantic imaginary.

If  Fashion today is an increasingly wish to hit and impress in everyday life as on the catwalk with accessories from other worlds, changing its semantics and location, Vivetta can give us that over the top style.

She is another way to show us that less is not always more and you can do that without being overdressed.
