Do you like sporty jackets?

Between me and sporty jackets there is a kind of “odi et amo“. It’s not my favorite piece, but I can not help buying then and, a bit like white t-shirts and jeans, they are never enough, especially if made of leather, perhaps black.

My odi towards them stems from their inherent nature to make every outfit less essential, to change the strength of a nice shirt, to cover where the desire was to let people see. The amo on the other hand is for the ability to complete an outfit when this is not a dress pret- a – porter, when the look has to be built adding details and style.

Tra me e le giacche sportive c’è una specie di “odi et amo“. Non è il mio capo preferito, ma non posso fare a meno di comprarne e, un po’ come le t-shirt bianche e i jeans, non bastano mai, soprattutto se sono di pelle, magari nera.

Il mio odi nei loro confronti nasce dalla loro intrinseca caratteristica di rendere meno essenziale un abito, di cambiare l‘efficacia di una camicia, di coprire lì dove volevi lasciare vedere.

L’amo invece è una sorta di ammirazione per quella capacità di completare un outfit quando questo non è un completo già pronto in partenza, ma è un look  più costruito a cui aggiungere stile e dettagli.

This basic inconsistency of mine is the reason why I adore, discomfort aside, the concept behind jacket over the shoulders. It’s there, but it is as if it wasn’t there at all, complete without ruining; enhances but don’t over do.

Questo mia incoerenza di base è la ragione per cui adoro, scomodità a parte, il principio della giacca sopra le spalle. C’è ma è come se non ci fosse, completa ma non rovina; esalta ma non stra fa.
