Let’s “escape in the mountains” with Christine Phung FW 2014-’15

I arrived one hour before the start. Pretty unusual, but very pleasant. I was accredited as editor and photographer and I could enter immediately. I have the time to observe the bright and white space on the 4th floor of Warehouses La Fayette empty. The light parquet on the floor was framed with a white tape and the writing Christine Phung.
” An escape in the mountains ” is the title of the collection, and this is the leitmotif of the early first models entering, only towards the end, in most models and urban citizens.

A pair of skis on the shoulders, a snow mask, a pantsuit and woolen sweater that, due to the abstract prints, recalls the ski suite of the Sixties. You can dress up to hit the slopes without practicing it and get a perfect remedy against the cold in the winters harsher.        The file rouge of all the collection is the inspiration by purity of high altitude made ​​of austerity and technical textiles .
A palette that once you put aside the skis refers to mountain landscapes and revolves around the gray and white of the snow. Glaciers are printed, engraved on skirts and suits dyed as blue as the sky at night.

The details are well defined, the volumes precise and well cut even when they become soft embroideries like snow crystals resting on shoulders and bustier.

High Heels. Short jackets, sweaters and mini dress made of  ” cozy ” fabrics that hug bare skin, full length skirt, midi skirts and bonton attitude .

Like any woman of today one style is not enough and her always being eclectic and versatile transforms this “sporty vibe ” into something more urban. When the snow has melted and she is back in town forms will soften further. The ankle pants are comfortable and masculine cut, tops are soft and  in contrast to the current trend, there are tights. Almost Always. Colored and opaque . Worn with open shoes, décolleté and sandals .

Only at the very end the skirts are getting shorter and the heads are embellished with jewel elements to conclude with clothes fade of bright and colored prints. Almost a reminder that sooner or later the white will disappear and leave the powerful of spring colors…the mountain will host us again in its arms, colorful and warm, this time.

Arrivo con un’ora di anticipo alla sfilata. Cosa insolita, ma piacevole. Sono accreditata come editrice e fotografa e entro subito. Ho il piacere di osservare la sala al 4° piano dei Magazzini La Fayette ancora vuota. Parquet chiaro per terra un nastro adesivo bianco che incornicia la scritta Christine Phung.
“Una fuga nelle montagne”: questo il titolo della collezione; e questo il leit motiv dei primi capi a sfilare che si trasformano, solo verso la fine, in modelli più urbani e cittadini.

Un paio di sci in spalla, una maschera e un completo pantalone e maglione in lana che richiama, grazie alla stampa astratta, i completi da sci anni sessanta. Ci si può vestire da sci anche senza praticarlo ed ottenere un perfetto rimedio antifreddo negli inverni più duri. L’ispirazione è la purezza d’alta quota fatta di austerità e tessuti tecnici.
Una palette che una volta messi da parte gli sci e le forme attillate rimanda ai paesaggi innevati e ruota intorno al grigio e bianco della neve. I ghiacciai sono stampati, impressi sulle gonne e i completi tinti del blu del cielo di notte.

I dettagli sono ben definiti, i volumi precisi anche quando diventano morbidi, i ricami come cristalli di neve appoggiati su spalle e i bustier.

Tacchi alti. Giubbotti corti, maglioni e mini dress dai tessuti “accoglienti” appoggiati sulla pelle nuda;  full skirt dalla lunghezza midi e gonne bonton.

Come in qualsiasi donna di oggi un solo stile non basta  e il suo essere ecclettica e versatile trasforma questo “sporty vibe” in qualcosa di  più urbano che rispetta, assimila e ripropone tutto quello che ha vissuto. Quando la neve è ormai sciolta e si è tornati in città le forme si ammorbidiscono ulteriormente. I pantaloni alla caviglia sono comodi e dal taglio maschile, i top morbidi e al contrario della tendenza attuale, ci sono i collant. Quasi Sempre. Colorati e coprenti. Indossati con décolléte e scarpe aperte.

Solo sul finire le gonne si accorciano e i capi si impreziosiscono con elementi gioiello per concludere con gli abiti dalle stampe più accese. Quasi a ricordare che quando il bianco lascerà spazio ai colori primaverili, la montagna ci ospiterà di nuovo tra le sue braccia colorate e calde.
