a sunny day, a symbolic place, the most iconic of the jackets

5 intense days – from Tuesday to Sunday -. I wandered dazed and disbelieving trying to breathe as more creativity as possible. It was impossible to resist. Impossible to stop. Like Alice in the Wonderlan I fell into something I’ve never dreamt. From design to fashion through art, streetstyle and music. I’m going to tell you about what I saw and felt, starting from yesterday. From a timeless classic which is good to start from and where it would be cute to arrive one day. A small black jacket, or even better the “little black jacket.” The Chanel’s one. Photographed and worn out several times. It has became the theme of an exhibition. Karl Lagerfeld and his photographs illustrate the versatility of a leader that has become the essential complement to many styles. Rock as it is worn by Georgia Jagger, romantic in the outfit of Charlotte Casiraghi, irreverent, classic bon ton and cunning. In a perfect place – a roundabout surrounded by greenery and flowers – in the heart of Milan. A roof, a lawn and the most essential of the jacket. It’s a good Sunday. I am now on my way home, with lots of thoughts and images to be put here in black on white.

http://thelittleblackjacket.chanel.com/it_IT/exhibition/milan Ehi guys, if you are around or in Milan go to Rotonda della Besana, via Enrico Besana 12, where you can see “The little black jacket”, the exhibition by Lagerfeld and Roitfeld, dedicated to the timeless Chanel’s black jacket. Its versatility and ability to adapt during the years, is shown by objective of Lagerfeld, author of the shoots, representing every single character from Uma Thurman to Yoko Ono, that wear the “petite veste noir” interpreting it personally and stilistically. After being in Paris, Tokyo and New York, the collection of 113 shoots will be in Milan until the 20th of April. Free admission. Breathe the style!
Great post! I loved this exhibit when it opened here in Paris. Gorgeous, practical and each celebrity, person, etc. who was photographed in it wore it in their own special way. Each person was unique wearing the exact same jacket. To me it really wasn’t about Chanel’s little black jacket, it was a show about personal style.
