BLUGIRL
N° 21
I’ve decided ‘to live’ the first fashion week of my life…oversea. I participated in New York Fashion Week (two weeks ago). The idea is – as a good or perhaps bad Italian – to be for foreign things. And I’ve been always thinking that “far away” they do it better. So, I haven’t applied for the Milan one and decided to watch the shows at my office in Rome. Reading. Thinking. Working. Without sophisticated makeup and trend clothes. And I’ve figured out that the Italians – talking about fashion – perfectly know what they want.
❣❣❣
E sappiamo, perfettamente, cosa vogliamo.
If there is anything we can do very well is to overhaul the elements of tradition in an innovative, new and never banal way. There is no need to invent something, or claiming minimal to be sure to be elegant. We take the ingredients that have always existed: tartan skirts and trousers, knitted wool sweaters – better if embroidered – the over used animalier, wool coats and silk shirts. All of these elements are reassembled in a trendy collegial style – for the day – and a dandy or a romantic allure – made by dresses load of transparencies and polka dots typical of a bohémien style – for the night.
Blugirl and N°21 are aligned on this idea of a young woman who shows her own strong personality in her clothing. An eclectic, multi-faceted collection. Made of Old England style boots and décolleté. Gold and sequins for the evening – that warm the nights, not only in winter. Velvet jackets, gloves and scarves on printed clothes for a chic look where the uncompleted or the fake negligence is not left by the chance.
The Blugirl woman for the boinne soiree is all glitter and transparency, while the N°21 is covered with layers of different materials and textures. Soft sweaters are the perfect bodice for a longuette dress.
– Because, in winter, it is possible to be chic and sexy without challenging the snow with blouses, sandals and bare legs –
And some glitter make it rain: the statement jewelry, the sequined skirts and the embroidered sweaters with bright swans are going to be a must have…next season, for sure.
❣❣❣

Great post. Love the photos 😉
I love italian fashion… I agree with what you’re saying the designs always have their own look about them. I’m jealous you get to enjoy Milan.. one day I shall too.
Milan is the city were I was born. It’s so cool it is at first place in Fashion…I hope to have some of that creativity in my dna 😀
As a Brit of all the fashion weeks I love Milan the most. They seem to have the most elegant and innovative styles there. Italians do style best in my opinion. I love the animal print jacket and gilet most of all but the floaty dresses are very beautiful for night time too. Great post.
