The little girl jumps –
a jumping adult shadow
follows her

Salta la bimba –
saltellando la segue
un’ombra adulta

The smell remains
of the hat and of grandad
hung on the nail

Resta l’odore
del cappello e del nonno
appeso al chiodo

It is raining harder
but the sound of the gong
leaves silence

Piove più forte
ma il rumore del gong
lascia silenzio
