the nuances mean a lot

This is not exactly what I think. I feel a bit like that. I would say to 70%. A picture is, for me, the most sophisticated among the languages. It has the intrinsic ability to combine a feeling to an image. An emotion to an instant. A soul to a face. ALWAYS. FOREVER. And every time it can be different. Because you can watch the same photo a thousand times and each time discover something different. Like a whispered, hidden and far away voice. It can happen that the narrator out of range suggests something to you. Perhaps reminds you another part of your soul. A photo in black and white is not a picture without color. But it is a picture where only the essential colors are shown. It also happens when you take away a red lipstick and magically return yourself. Or when you put it just to feel another one. The shadows, the gradients, the saturation, the brightness, the contrasts and the color tones are the cromatic expressions of a black and white photo. That reminds  the many possible worlds to me.

Non la penso esattamente così. La penso un pò così. Direi al 70%. Una foto rappresenta, per me, il più sofisticato dei linguaggi. Ha l’intrinseca capacità di abbinare un sentimento a una immagine. Un’emozione a un istante. Un’anima a un volto. SEMPRE. PER SEMPRE. E ogni volta è diverso. Perché la puoi guardare anche mille volte e ogni volta scoprirai qualcosa di diverso. Come una voce sussurrata, nascosta e lontana. Come se il narratore fuori campo ti suggerisse qualcosa di te. Forse un’altra parte di te. Una foto in bianco e nero, non è una foto senza colore. Ma una immagine dove è rimasto solo il colore essenziale. Come quando togli il rossetto rosso per ritornare te stessa. O come quando lo metti per sentirti un’altra. Le ombre, le sfumature, la saturazione, la luce, i contrasti e le tonalità sono le espressioni cromatiche di una foto monocromatica. Che a me richiama i molteplici mondi possibili.
