…but in this period of the year – from the end of August to November – you can’t miss it. Not only one of the most fascinating city in the world, Venice – the real one in Italy, of course, not in Vegas – is, at least during these three months, full of artists, architects, designer who restless populate the tiny streets, the shining Piazza San Marco and the creative Giardini e Arsenale where “la 13. Biennale” of Architecture is hosted. The theme of this year is ‘common ground’. It is a way to help Architects to overcome the crisis and to feel closer to the society where we live. I still have to go to visit it, so I’ll write my opinion later on. If you are deciding whether to go, I’m sure that this editorial from Karl Lagerfield could be decisive for you. He caught part of the real essence of Venice: the most stylist part of the city, the shining and dramatic water of the Grand Canal, the beauty and mysterious luxury masks, the incredible strength of the monument and history. If you have ever been to Venice, do you agree with me? And if not, do you imagine it like this?

I cant wait. I hear its one of the most expensive cities to live and stay. But the with the poor economy hopefully the hotels have lowered prices like Rome has. Great post!!!!!
It’s very expensive, but as you said Rome is more or less the same and Capri or Portofino are even more. I’m sure you can find, not cheap, but at least affordable hotels…anyway it absolutely worths a visit! If you need any help, write to me :-P!
Grazie Mille!
Mi piace molto Venezia!
I hope to make it back there some day soon. It’s a great city to visit during the off season.
Buongiorno Arlene! You absolutely have to give it a try. You won’t be upset! If you go in winter it can also happen that there is the “high water” and all the city is covered in more then half a meter of water.
pretty pictures! I love Venice, I’ve been there once and I will never forget it xx
Ciao Filipa! it’s gorgeous to see a city from an artist’s eyes like Karl. Cute editorial!
the pics are so gorg!! I dream about going there one day!! it would be such a dream fulfilled!!
xoxo
It is a dream! you are right! If you get the chance to come to Italy! Write to me bella!
I love this city, but I did not care for all the pigeons and my ride in the gondola in Vegas seem to be more authentic because the person riding the gondola sang to us in Italian I didn’t get that treatment in Venice when I rode on the gondola, other than that it is a fabulous city and I hope to go back one day!
I wish I could visit Vegas a day…just to make a comparison. Enjoy your day!

beautiful image! If you do take some photo! 😉
Mi piace Venezia!! I fell in love the moment I saw the skyline. And I got lost…but that is what you are supposed to do in Venice.

VENICE: My heart belongs to Venice!
My parents named me Daniella in honor of the lovely hotel in Venice: Hotel Danieli!
Oh wow so poetic! I can understand parents making these things. My name, Marinella, is in honor of a famous Italian song “la canzone di Marinella” 😛
Nice!!! My dream is to go visit there 😀
Im following your blog now…
