A friend of mine asked me some days ago: “Do you think that your lipstick and nails should be combined?” … Honestly I do not have my own rule. First of all, because I rarely wear colored lipstick, while I almost always have polished nails. Secondly, lip gloss, neutral colors or cocoa butter are my everyday use; even though, recently, I could not have resisted to “the rouge in love Lancome n° 159B”
In the following images, a series of examples of great inspiration. As I answered intuitively the two things do not have to be the same color, but definitely stay together! What do you think about that?

Prima di tutto perché mentre ho quasi sempre le unghie smaltate, raramente indosso il rossetto. Lucidalabbra, colori neutri o addirittura burro di cacao sono la mia quotidianità, anche se non ho resistito al “rouge in love di Lancome n° 159B”.
In queste immagini ci sono una serie di esempi di grande ispirazione. Come ho risposto intuitivamente io sembrerebbe che le due cose non devono per forza coincidere, ma sicuramente essere colori combinabili come un qualsiasi altro capo di abbigliamento. Voi che ne pensate?

Sicuramente se li si abbina, il risultato è ottimo ma penso che sia un problema indossare smalto e rossetto diversi magari come dici giustamente te basta abbinare i colori sapientemente (anche perché lo smalto azzurro come lo metti?!).
Sai che anch’io non sono da rossetto (un’altra cosa in comune) e per lo più uso il burrocacao, ma ho provato il chubby stick di clinique ed è perfetto perché ha la stesura e la consistenza di un labello ma ti dona un colore (molto naturale) di un lipstick.
Fammi sapere cosa ne pensi se lo provi

I say it doesn’t have to match. But do you notice wearing clothes that happen to match or coordinate with your nail color? I do! I was wearing blue nail color last week and my outfits had some sort of blue to it. Really unintentional but it just happens….
Ei Jeni! Yes, I think you are right. It’s almost unconscious that one matches them some way! For example, in my opinion, it’s very difficult that one wear bordeaux nails and bright red lipstick…
Honestly, it depends on my mood. There are times when I feel the need to be totally coordinated. Typically, I choose colors that either look good on my skin or would make any outfit “pop.” More often than not – I don’t match – which sort of “matches” my personality – ha:)
Agreed! It doesn’t matter what we wear, but we need to feel comfortable with it! It’s difficult to wear red lipstick if you don’t have the right mood! 🙂
Good question lol…We’ll in my opinion I think that it doesn’t necessarily have to match. I kinda put on my nails what I feel like, no matter what i’m wearing. One time I went to a “Wearing Something Red Party” opted for red nails, lips and little hat with a black lace dress – and having red lipstick + red nails… felt a little boring.

Good question! Well most of the time I think it doesn’t have to match…but you should not wear two strong and very different colors! For example red lips and green nails…no no no I would say (considering that your outfit won’t be red or green either)! Apart from that, mixing and matching colors is pretty cool during summer time 😉

Lips and nails match only by coincidence.. I say it fun to mix and match … Personally I don’t think it’s necessary to match toe nails with finger nails…

This is so cool! I never really thought of that. I think that sometimes it would be cool if they match, but if you’re wearing like green nail polish.. making them match would be a bad idea lol

Speaking about makeup color match issues, I’ve a little general checklist to advice to a woman (which can be applied to another situations for sure): elegance (an indispensable attribute!), femininity, good sense, self-coherence (regarding personal tastes, personality, etc) and the ability to mix classic aesthetical concepts with some newest ones “en vogue”. I guess the final result hardly will be bad…
