historical notes of the brand. Franco Moschino creates his company, the Moonshadow in 1983, and his first brand Moschino Couture! in the same year. At the beginning his creation are about casual and jeans, but immediately later on about  lingerie, night dress, shoes, men’s wear and parfums too. In 1988 he creates his “cheaper” line, la Cheap Chic Woman e Cheap Chic Man.  His first collections are innovative and unusual. Moschino’s creations propose themselves as a parody and a critique of fashion world. He reworks classic pieces, adding irreverent details like windmill in place of buttons in a suit; or embroidering the famous black dress with price on the head; or skirts made entirely of ties, one-sleeved shirts or T-Shirt with the inscription ”Moschifo” .

Some tricks from day 1 in the mood for MFW

Live from Milano: among all the catwalks you can see streamed live on fashion website like Vogue, style.it, etc I’d like to tell you two other ways to be connected closer with MFW.
- The first is in front of “camera di commercio della moda” where you can two maxi screens with all main stylist’s catwalks, programs and stands. Since the sun is shining it will be wonderful to be surronded my fashion in the open air.
- the second is in piazza liberty at the fashion house. There you can find make up artist, fashion coach and you can partecipate to shows and catwalks.
Yesterday night they promise to find the Best rouge lipstick for 6 women. Secret word: “jo squillo dice no”.
Let’s go now.

YSL and Alexander Mc Queen create piece of nature

It’s incredible how many times we can find different forms of nature in fashion world. Mystical atmospheres, natural environments or simply clothes covered with flowers are more common then you can imagine. Just look for it.

When I first saw this dress I just thought “wow”, that’s so cool. I know, it is not properly an “everyday”, but it is like a dream becoming reality.

Laetitia Casta as an YSL bride, SS 1999 couture show

This is a wedding drees and it might seem to belong to the overtly whimsical side of fashion. It consists of two well-positioned wreaths of fabric flowers and it has been shown at the Yves Saint Laurent: an art Made for the Body - MUSÉE DES BEAUX-ARTS DE MONTRÉAL, MAY 29 TO SEP 28 2008

“Fashion’s role is not simply to make women more beautiful but also to reassure them, give them confidence and allow them to assert themselves.” Yves Saint Laurent

Strength and fragility is a constant in the british stylist’s collection.

these fashion illustrations are amazing

If I think about a fashion illustrator, I have one name clear in my mind. Wonderful works made by ink, pigment liner, felt-tip pen and mixes hand drawing with digital instruments are the magic worlds designed by Noumeda Carbone. She is a french freelance illustrator based in Florence. Her drawings are so elegant and rare. The atmosphere are surreal and dark. The error, the small surprise between lines, the light are all elements that characterize her drawings.

I love her style because she uses nature in a cute graphic way, beautiful exotic flowers are so integrated in the image that everything seems to own at the same fabulous words. I think these drawings are ready to be printed as fabrics and precious prints. She worked a lot for fashion world: Pitti Immagine, Breil, London Liryc Opera, Leo Burnett, The Guardian, Sony/ATV, Andy Martin Associates: Architects and Designers, Alta Roma Ethical Fashion, 1861 United.

Her work was published among on ” 200 Best Illustrators worldwide Luerzer’s Archive Specials 09/10″, Communication Arts – 50° Anniversary Issue, Rolling Stone Magazine, Glamour magazine, Computer Arts (n 188), La Perla Magazine, Trenland.net, Kult magazine.
